• Federal Laboratories; Corporate, State and University Research Centers (red dots) — This map denotes all the federal laboratories; corporate, state and university research centers that focus on the energy industry in the American South.
   
• Community College Technical Centers (yellow dots) — This map denotes community college programs that contribute to or focus on the energy industry in the American South.
