Southern Automotive Industry — This map seeks to provide a snapshot of the automotive industry in the American South and the various automotive corridors throughout the region. It includes:

• Automotive, Motorcycle, Truck and Small Vehicle and Auto Parts Manufacturing Companies (blue dots) — The automotive companies identified on this map are private companies listed in the Dunn & Bradstreet (D&B) database.
   
• Federal Laboratories; Corporate, State and University Research Centers (red dots) — This map denotes all the federal laboratories; corporate, state and university research centers that focus on the automotive industry.
   
• Community College Technical Centers (yellow dots) — This map denotes community college programs that contribute to or focus on the automotive industry with technical centers training workers in the American South.
