Innovation Assets in the American South - Beta Version

Welcome to the preview of SGA’s “Innovation Assets in the American South,” a project that will result in the first comprehensive inventory of the physical locations of the region’s many innovation-related resources.

While we continue to work toward completing our data collection and refining how you can interact with the maps themselves, the following set of slides will give you a preliminary look at the many assets the American South has to offer. As future work on this project is completed, this presentation will become more interactive, so check back with us periodically.

How to view the maps:
The categories of data being collected are presented in nine “slide shows” that present the information available to date. Each map presented in each slide show has been created in a geographic information system format. To move the map around, click and hold down your mouse. A “hand” icon will appear. To zoon in or out, use your scroll button. To advance to the next slide in the category, click on the arrow key or use your key pad. At the conclusion of each slide show, navigate to the next by selecting the next category of assets you wish to review.

Special Thanks to Esri, the Southern Growth Policies Board, the Southeastern Universities Research Association, the Southern States Energy Board and the National Science Foundation for their assistance with this project.
