Director of Communications
and Marketing

Charlotte Cole supports SGA through the development of communications and marketing strategies, tactics and messages, and works with the communications offices of SGA’s member governors to provide timely and topical information to the media about the organization’s initiatives and programs.  In addition, she manages SGA’s Web portal and coordinates “Soul of the South,” a Web-based cultural tourism marketing initiative.

Throughout her career in both public and private sectors, Charlotte has developed and managed award-winning strategic marketing and communications programs for a variety of organizations. Early on, she served as the Media Relations Director for the Virginia Division of Tourism and later as a marketing consultant for Philip Morris USA.

Charlotte holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of South Carolina with a cognate in Business Administration and Marketing, and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators.
