Annual Meetings

SGA's Annual Meeting is the premier opportunity for Southern governors, intergovernmental affairs professionals and individuals and organizations with an interest in the South to convene and discuss issues that impact the growth and prosperity of the region.

Over the years, this forum for collaboration and envisioning has addressed topics as diverse as surface transportation improvement, interstate emergency medical assistance, environmental conservation, information technology, aviation and airport improvement, air quality, offshore drilling and the Outer Continental Shelf, improvements in secondary and post-secondary education, aging, energy, deepwater ports and inland waterways and tourism. The result of these deliberations has provided the basis for SGA's work within the region, as well as efforts in Washington to advance regional interests to Congress and the Administration.
